Eden Oak Workshop for Hearing Participants

Workshop for Participants
Friday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m.
Shell Point Social Center
RSVP: rawessel@sccf.org

If you’re concerned about development impacting the fragile wetlands in Punta Rassa, about building more structures in a Coastal High Hazard area, or adding more traffic to an already overburdened evacuation route, the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation is holding a workshop to help prepare testimony opposing the Eden Oak development.

This proposal for 55 units (plus 56 docks) in a mostly wetland area adjacent to Shell Point Village goes before the Lee County Hearing Examiner on Tuesday, December 3, and SCCF is seeking people to both attend the hearing to testify against this project, or write comments to the Hearing Examiner in opposition if you are unable to attend and testify.

Lee Future encourages our readers to take advantage of this training, and to speak before the hearing examiner. You must speak before the examiner in order to be able to speak before the Commission as the application proceeds.

This page by the SCCF has talking points to help residents speak accurately about the project, as well as the applicant’s presentation.

If you can’t attend the hearing, you can send a letter to:

Lee County Hearing Examiner
1500 Monroe Street
Fort Myers, Florida 33901
