State finally issues “stay at home/essential services” order

Gov. DeSantis has finally taken more definitive state action to stem the spread of COVID-19, limiting activities to essential services until the end of April. This came after weak (or no) action by some local governments (including Lee County) and calls from Florida’s citizens and leaders to be more aggressive against this deadly disease. Lee Future welcomes this step, and encourages its members to review the Executive Order to better understand the services considered “essential” by this order.
